Now in its eighteenth year, Recycle Week is the nation’s biggest celebration of recycling. This Recycle Week, Recycle Now and Bedford Borough Council are ‘getting real’, about how we can all tackle recycling together. 

Thousands of families across Bedford Borough, who are entitled to income related free school meals, will be given vouchers for the October half term and Christmas holidays.

From 14th October 2022, over 50s will be invited to book in their autumn booster vaccine thanks to the huge uptake of Autumn boosters.

A new collection of books is now available from Bedford Borough Libraries. The collection supports the mental health and wellbeing of 13 to 18 year-olds. It contains information to help teens understand their feelings, handle difficult experiences, and boost confidence.

Green Flags are proudly flying in Bedford Borough's parks after they were once again recognised for their quality.

Bedford Borough Council invested in CCTV cameras specifically for fly tipping offences. In the past 12 months, 10 Fixed Penalty Notices have been issued as a result of evidence from the cameras, with further ongoing investigations yet to be concluded.

Most households will start to receive the £400 energy rebate this month, spread over the next six months. These payments are not means tested and there is no option to opt out.
