Tom Wootton has been elected as Mayor of Bedford Borough.
As Bedford Borough’s directly elected Mayor he will lead the Council, have considerable decision-making power and will represent the borough at a local and national level.
Local Election Day is Thursday 4 May, when elections will be held for the Mayor of Bedford Borough, Borough Councillors, and Parish and Town Councillors where areas have parish/town councils that are contested (ie. more candidates than seats on the Council).
With the warmer weather approaching it’s great to see more dog owners enjoying our local parks and green spaces. However, it is important to remember that this is also a critical time for many species of nesting birds.
Bedford Borough Council is calling on motorists to help in a clampdown on road users who throw litter from their vehicles. The council has been collecting large volumes of roadside litter each day during targeted litter picks in February and March.
