Bedford Borough is at the forefront of installing Electric Vehicle (EV) charging points, as part of a nation-wide push to help drivers go greener.

Former councillor Gordon Willey has died.

Gordon Willey was a Liberal Democrat Bedford Borough Councillor for Wootton from 2002 to 2007. 

He was also a county councillor.

New vehicle registration system at Bedford Borough HWRC goes live

A new provider is to operate Pest Control services on behalf of Bedford Borough Council from later this month.

The Council will be working in partnership with SDK Environmental Ltd to offer pest control treatments for domestic properties in the Borough from September 21.

Four drivers have been prosecuted for illegally using disabled parking Blue Badges in Bedford town centre.

The drivers must pay a combined total of more than £3,400 as a result of the enforcement operation by Bedford Borough Council’s Investigations team last December. 

There will be a series of overnight road closures on Greyfriars from the end of September.

Two town centre businesses have been closed by Bedford Borough Council’s Trading Standards team for supplying and distributing illegal tobacco.
