Bedford Borough Council is delighted to announce that the iconic Bedford Park Bandstand will be undergoing a much-anticipated refurbishment this spring.
Following the successful granting of planning permission, this exciting project will see the beloved landmark revitalised to enhance its use and enjoyment for the entire community.

The refurbishment will include several key elements:
- Improved accessibility: A new set of steps will replace the current heavy trapdoor, ensuring easier access for performers and maintenance crews.
- Enhanced safety: A secure guardrail will be installed to prevent falls, and new security grilles will protect the bandstand when not in use while maintaining its aesthetic appeal.
- Surrounding area upgrades: The area around the bandstand will be rejuvenated with the removal of existing hedging and refurbishment of surfacing and railings.
Once completed, the refurbished bandstand will offer exciting new possibilities for the community. Local groups and organisations will be able to book the bandstand for performances, talks, or other gatherings. It will also serve as a stunning backdrop for weddings, family portraits, and other special events.
