Following the publication of The Building (Local Authority Charges and Amendments Relating to Charging) (England) Regulations 2026 Bedford Borough Council now charges for this service.
These charges come into force on 13 November 2026.
The relevant charge is payable at the time of submission.
Payment should be made online via the Council online payment system via our Save time do it online webpage.
The charges are non refundable.

Where the Authority is required to spend additional time processing any of the notices due to any oversight or error in the information provided, supplementary charges may be applied.
Supplementary Charges will be applied at the hourly rate applicable at the time further input by the Authority is required.
The current rate is £116.64 per hour.
