All our parking permits are virtual, so you can apply for and manage them online, and start using them as soon as they are approved.

What is a car park season ticket?

Car park season tickets are parking permits which allow you to park in one of our car parks, reducing the average price of daily parking. With a season ticket, there is no need to visit a pay machine when you use the car park.

Season tickets are available at the following car parks:

  • Allhallows multi-storey car park
  • Ashburnham Road car park 
  • Lurke Street multi-storey car park
  • Melbourne Street car park 
  • Prebend Street car park
  • Queen Street multi-storey car park
  • St Peters Street car park

Your season ticket is only valid at the car park you select when you apply.

Annual and monthly season ticket

We offer both monthly and annual season tickets at all our car parks.

The only exception is the HMPS season ticket which is only available as an annual permit.

Can I have more than one vehicle on my season ticket?

Yes, you can have a maximum of three vehicles on your season ticket, but the season ticket can only be live on one vehicle at a time. It is your responsibility to change which vehicle is active via your online parking account.

When will my season ticket start?

Season tickets start on the 1st of the month only. You can choose to start your season ticket on the 1st of the next month, or back date it to the 1st of this month.

Access to multi storey car parks for season ticket holders

At our multi storey car parks, season ticket holders will be issued a barrier card to enter and exit.

When you apply online, you will be given the option to collect your barrier card from Borough Hall or have it sent to you in the post.

HMPS Bedford staff season ticket

Employees of HMPS (His Majesty's Prison Service) Bedford can apply for an annual HMPS season ticket at Queen Street multi-storey car park.

You will need to provide proof that you are employed by HMPS Bedford, which can be one of the following documents:  

  • contract of employment
  • payslip (must be less than three months old)
  • letter from Personnel confirming employment

Please make sure the name on the document you provide is the same as the name in your application – it they don’t match we won’t be able to approve your application. The document must show a link between the applicant and HMPS Bedford.

Once we have your application, we need to check your documents. We will let you know by email whether your application has been successful, and if it is, we will ask you to pay for your HMPS parking permit.

Payment options

You can choose to pay for your annual season ticket by card or by invoice. If you choose to pay by invoice we will review your application and let you know by email if your application is successful / unsuccessful. 

Month season tickets can only be paid for by card.

Apply online for a car park season ticket

Step by step guide

1. Register for a parking permit account

 

You need a parking permit account to apply for a season ticket.

If you don’t already have a parking permit account, it’s easy to set one up. 

You can register for a resident, non-resident or business parking permit account – all of these account options allow you to apply for one of our season tickets.

To register for an account / apply online you will need an email address. Unfortunately, the parking permit system does not accept NTL world email addresses. 

Once you have set up your account, you simply go to the ‘permit applications’ option in the account and select ‘season ticket’.

2. Read the terms and conditions

 

  • A car park season ticket does not guarantee a parking space at the car park. 
  • Season tickets are only valid in the car park for which they are issued. 
  • The vehicle must be parked in accordance with the terms and conditions of use displayed in the car park. Failure to comply with the terms and conditions displayed may result in a Penalty Charge Notice. Currently the charge is up to £70 reduced by 50% if paid within 14 days.
  • If the car park operates as a ‘pay-on-foot’ car park, a contactless barrier card will be issued to allow entry and exit. 
  • Season tickets are issued for a period of one or 12 months, in whole months only. All season tickets will be valid from the 1st of the month and expire on the last day of the month. All applications should be submitted at least 7 working days in advance of the required start date.
  • Where maintenance work closes or restricts the use of a car park, notices will be erected identifying alternative car parks where season tickets will be valid.
