  • New Recycling Bins In Bedford Borough’s Parks

    This week, the Council is completing a project to upgrade bins across Bedford Park, Jubilee Park, Allen Park and Mowsbury Park.

    All old bins are being removed, whilst at the same time new bigger bins with a separate side for recycling are being installed. These new bins may not be in the same place as they used to be, as bins are being installed in high footfall areas and known litter spots to ensure it is as easy as possible for people to find and use them.

  • COVID-19 Vaccination Q&A for Parents/Carers of 12-17 year olds


    On Thursday 4 November, 6-7pm, Bedford Borough Council are inviting parents and carers of children aged 12-17 to a virtual Q&A session to talk about the COVID-19 vaccine.
     
    The event, hosted by Senior Public Health Officer, Dr Foyeke Tolani, is an opportunity for parents and carers of 12-17 year olds to hear from local GP Dr Vijay Nayar and the Chief Officer for Public Health, Dr Ian Brown about the COVID vaccine for this age group and ask any questions.

  • Remembrance and Armistice Events in Bedford Borough

    Bedford Borough Council, the Bedford branch of the Royal British Legion and other partners are working together again this year, with events to mark Remembrance Day and Armistice Day.

    From Friday 22 October, Bedford Borough Council is in its ‘winter maintenance period’. This means gritting crews are ready to go out spreading salt on roads to keep traffic moving and safe, as temperatures drop.

  • Bedford Borough Council Provide School Holiday Food Vouchers This Half Term

    Bedford Borough Council will again be providing vouchers to families with children eligible for income related free school meals.

    Funded through the Household Support Fund, the council will provide households £25 per eligible child or young person in Bedford Borough for half term. On top of the £15 supermarket voucher, this half term a one off £10 will also be provided to help off-set any extra spend utility bills and other household expenses.
