Local foster carers, Mr. and Mrs. Ball, recently represented Bedford Borough Council at the Palace of Westminster to celebrate 50 years of The Fostering Network and to be recognised for their invaluable contribution to fostering.

The Fostering Network is the UK’s leading fostering charity, dedicated to improving the lives of fostered children by supporting those who care for them. This special event brought together MPs, social workers, and 200 foster carers and care-experienced individuals from across the country to discuss the future of social care, the critical role of foster carers, and the wellbeing of children in schools.

Councillor Jane Walker, Portfolio Holder for Valuing Families, said: "Foster carers provide stability, care, and love to children who need it most. We are incredibly proud of Mr. and Mrs. Ball for their dedication, and we are delighted to see them recognised in this way."

Mrs. Ball added: "It was wonderful to attend this event and to be recognised for our role as foster carers. Meeting other foster carers from across the United Kingdom, who share our passion for making a difference in children’s lives, was very special.”
