Foster families were treated to a special Easter fun day this month, to recognise their dedication and the invaluable role they play in the community.

The event, on Monday 21 April at Woodland Manor Hotel in Clapham, brought together families from across the Borough.

They were treated to an afternoon packed with fun-filled activities, creating lasting memories for children and young people. The Easter-themed trail around the Manor’s scenic grounds was a highlight, with excited children following clues to discover hidden treasures. The Bunnies Brunch was a big hit, offering delicious sandwiches and Easter-themed cakes, while arts and crafts stations allowed children to showcase their creativity.

The day also featured a "Name the Bunny" competition, soft play areas, live music, and an exciting raffle with fantastic prizes. The raffle raised valuable funds for three wonderful charities: The John Bunyan Museum, Creating Memories, and the East Anglian Air Ambulance.

Councillor John Wheeler, Speaker of Bedford Borough Council said; "It was wonderful to see so many families enjoying the activities, and we’re delighted that the event also supported three fantastic local charities. Thank you to all who attended and contributed to making it such a success, including our hosts at Woodland Manor."

Tom Wootton, Mayor of Bedford Borough added; "Our fostering families provide a loving and supportive environment for children who need it most.

“It was fantastic to be able to bring them together for such a joyful Easter event. Thank you to everyone who helped make this day so special."
