Mindful Sport

Sport and physical activity encourage positivity, stimulate brain activity and contribute to good health.

The Mindful Sport programme aims to improve the mental health of people in the community through social physical activity sessions.

The activities help people who may be experiencing anxiety, stress, depression and other similar conditions.

We have a range of live online fitness classes, including mindful yoga, for you to keep moving and promote wellbeing at home. Go to Bedford Sport Live for the full timetable of free classes.

Gentle Tai Chi at Project 229 in Kempston

Fridays at 10am to 10.45am

Tai Chi is an ancient, slow-paced Chinese martial art. Now practised mainly for the health and wellbeing benefits it offers. Some of those being improvements in balance, posture, co-ordination, range of movement, energy levels and reduction of stress levels.

The small group class at Project 229 offers an in-person Tai Chi Session with the fantastic Jenny Mcarthy.

The weekly class is ideal for developing balance, strength and coordination. Places are limited but you can also take part from home. Sessions are live streamed online at Bedford sport live.

The class is operated on a first come, first served basis and there is a maximum number of participants.
