Mindful Sport

Sport and physical activity encourage positivity, stimulate brain activity and contribute to good health.

The Mindful Sport programme aims to improve the mental health of people in the community through social physical activity sessions.

The activities help people who may be experiencing anxiety, stress, depression and other similar conditions.

*Monday sessions will not take place on Bank Holidays. We encourage you to maintain your regular physical activity routine by visiting our Bedford Activity Sessions YouTube channel and taking part in one of the pre-recorded sessions.

Mindful Sound Baths

A Sound Bath uses specially selected instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, tongue drums, harps and flutes to produce frequencies and vibrations that have been shown to calm the nervous system, reducing anxiety and relieving stress. Participants sit or lie on a mat (or sit on a chair) much like a yoga class and listen to the sounds that the tutor will play.

The Sound Baths are to be held on a weekly basis, every Wednesday for 9 weeks from 31 January 2024.

No booking is necessary; just turn up and pay on the day. Sign-in on the landing of the 3rd floor of the library. Maximum class size 25 people (first come, first served basis). £3.50 per person per session. Cash only, change given.
