Sport and physical activity encourage positivity, stimulate brain activity and contribute to good health.

The Mindful Sport programme aims to improve the mental health of people in the community through social physical activity sessions.

The activities help people who may be experiencing anxiety, stress, depression and other similar conditions. 

Due to the coronavirus outbreak, we have suspended sport sessions run by Sports Development to ensure the safety of participants, staff and volunteers. This includes:

  • Over 70s
  • Active Adults
  • Just Turn Up
  • Mindful Sport
  • No Limits
  • Multi Activity Group (MAC)
  • Tai Chi
  • GP Exercise Referral

Live online classes

We have a range of live online fitness classes, including mindful yoga, for you to keep moving and promote wellbeing at home. Go to Bedford Sport Live for the full timetable of free classes

Mental Health First Aid Workshop

We know that mental health problems can isolate people from the world and can be very difficult to talk about. Through specialist mental health awareness training and mental health first aid we want to give people the confidence to feel able to talk to people who are suffering from mental health issues, and also give them the knowledge to signpost them to the right service for support.

Join us online to “Open the conversation" on Thursday 4 February 2021 at 10am to 2pm. Cost is £10 per person.

Keyboard Warriors

Stretch, flex and energise. Take a short 15 minute break in your day to join our experienced Personal Trainer who will help you to gently get moving, feel good and boost your physical and mental wellbeing.

Book this into your day for some self-care and activate your wrists, arms, hip flexors and shoulders. Improve your posture and support the healthy functioning of your internal organs.

Exercise has been shown to boost mental readiness and productivity.

Take part in your work clothes and at your own pace. Live every Monday and Thursday at 12.30pm on Zoom.
