Our teams
The Health Improvement team supports people to live healthier lives and to make healthier choices. We are the lead commissioner for healthy weight and sexual health services across Bedford Borough, Central Bedfordshire and Milton Keynes. Our team also includes Public Health Outreach Officers.
The Health Protection team works closely with the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) and other partners to prevent and mitigate the impact of infectious diseases, environmental, chemical and radiological threats. This includes leading the local response to public health incidents, ensuring local plans are in place to protect the health of the local population, and working with partner agencies on national immunisation and screening programmes.
The Population Health Evidence and Intelligence (PHEI) team provides evidence and insights on population health to inform strategic planning by the Council, the Health and Wellbeing Board and our partners in in the local health and care system.
