Communications and Communities

The Communications and Communities Team at Bedford Borough Council plays a vital role in connecting the Council with residents, businesses, and stakeholders.

Working across press, social media, and community engagement, the team ensures that important information is communicated clearly and effectively. They manage media relations and drive digital and community engagement through social platforms and events, making sure the voice of the Borough is heard.

Commissioning and Procurement Team

Our innovative team provides support, leadership, independent challenge, evidence and insight to the Council’s commissioning and procurement activity. We make sure commissioning and procurement is delivered consistently and to the right standard.

Programme Management Office

The Programme Management Office supports project managers, project sponsors stakeholders to successfully deliver projects and programmes across the Council.

Technology

The technology team enables the Council to deliver its vast array of services, including its online services for residents and local businesses. We work hard to provide and maintain our IT infrastructure, platforms and applications.

Human Resources

This is the team that provides employee relations, recruitment, policy, workforce development and payroll transactional services. We also deliver occupational health and wellbeing services for our staff, as well as the Bedford Training and Assessment Centre (BTAC), which is also an internal apprenticeship training provider.

Legal Services

Our legal teams provide high quality, professional, legal advice across the Council. Working closely with senior leaders, we enable well-informed decisions to be made which positively impact on service delivery and help make a real difference.

Finance

Now is an exciting and challenging time to join our high performing team. We work with politicians and senior officers across a range of diverse services, helping them deliver first class services in a difficult period for public sector finances in the UK.

Whether it is shaping our response to the growing pressures in adult social care or working with partners to address housing pressures, our finance professionals are right at the heart of the strategic programmes addressing the biggest issues facing the public sector in the 21st century.
