If you are moving into, within, or out of the Borough it’s important that you let us know. You will need your Council Tax account number to hand.
Moving into the Borough
If you are moving into the Borough, you need to let us know:
- the date your tenancy starts (if renting), or the date you bought the property (if buying)
- the date you are moving in to the property (if renting), or the date that you are moving furniture into the property (if buying)
- whether the property is furnished or unfurnished (if renting)
- details of all the adults aged 18 years old or over who will be living at the property, including students.
Moving within the Borough
If you are moving to a new address within the Borough, you need to let us know so that we can make sure you receive the correct bill for your new address.
Moving out of the Borough
If you are moving out of the Borough you should let us know, ideally about a month before you move.
Once you have notified us, your closing Council Tax bill should arrive within 10 working days at your forwarding address.
If you had a Direct Debit set up, you can cancel this through your bank or building society as soon as you have notified us.
