The Household Support Fund has announced additional support up until the end of March 2026, funded by UK Government.
Bedford Borough Council will be prioritising support to those residents most in need, helping families facing financial hardship with essential costs, including food during the school holidays.
We have used our funding to assist:
- Families with children and young people eligible for income-related free school meals.
- Residents of pensionable age who are in receipt of a Council Tax Support claim.
If you have previously received a grant from the Household Support Fund and you are still eligible, a payment of £150 will automatically be paid into your bank account in January 2026.
Applications for this final round of funding closed on 22 February 2026. This is the final allocation of Household Support Funding; a new Crisis and Resilience Fund has been announced for 1 April 2026.
