The Household Support Fund has announced additional support up until the end of March 2026, funded by UK Government.
Bedford Borough Council will be prioritising support to those residents most in need, helping families facing financial hardship with essential costs, including food during the school holidays.
We have used our funding to assist:
- Families with children and young people eligible for income-related free school meals.
- Residents of pensionable age who are in receipt of a Council Tax Support claim.
If you have previously received a grant from the Household Support Fund and you are still eligible, a payment of £150 will automatically be paid into your bank account in January 2026.
If you have not received a payment, or have not previously applied and you meet the criteria of being a pensionable age Council Tax Support claimant, please complete a new application using the online form below:
