Lower Super Output Areas (LSOAs) are a sub-ward geography unit with population sizes ranging from 1,000 to 3,000 people. They are defined by the Office of National Statistics (ONS).
The latest LSOA listing can be found along with other geographical codes on the Open Geography portal (an ONS website).
Note: LSOAs do not have names and are referenced by codes which in Bedford Borough range from E01017453 - E01017554 and E01033431 - E01034434 (as at Nov.2025)
Wards are divided into several LSOAs. Bedford Borough currently has a total of 117 LSOAs across its 28 wards (as at November 2025).
