The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has recently published  statistics for the English indices of deprivation 2025 (IoD 2025).

Lower Super Output Areas (LSOAs) are a sub-ward geography averaging approximately 1,600 people.

Lower Super Output Areas (LSOAs), wards are divided into several LSOAs, with up to six LSOAs in the large urban wards in Bedford. Bedford Borough has a total of 103 LSOAs across its 27 wards.

Ward profiles are also available through the Local Insight community intelligence mapping and reporting system for the LSOAs in the Borough which fall within the 0-20% most deprived areas in England on the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) 2025.
