The Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) has recently published/updated statistics for the English indices of deprivation 2025 (IoD 2025). This is the first update since the 2019 release.
As such these pages are under review and will be updated as necessary as soon as possible following this release.
The full release from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government (MHCLG) can be found here: English Indices of Deprivation 2025.
2025 limited IoD information/data can already be viewed on the Bedford Borough Local Insight website.
Lower Super Output Areas (LSOAs) are a sub-ward geography averaging approximately 1,600 people.
Wards are divided into several LSOAs, with up to six LSOAs in the large urban wards in Bedford. Bedford Borough has a total of 103 LSOAs across its 27 wards.
LSOAs do not have names and are referenced by codes which in Bedford Borough range from E01017453 - E01017554. We have identified each LSOA using the last 3 digits of the code together with the ward name.
Profiles are available through the Local Insight community intelligence mapping and reporting system for the 14 LSOAs in the Borough which fall within the 0-20% most deprived areas in England on the Index of Multiple Deprivation (IMD) 2019.
