Making wills can be something people avoid, or put off to another day. But that can lead to complications and difficulties for their family. You can find useful information about why you should make a will, and how to go about making one. 

Legal aid

Legal aid can help you pay for legal advice, mediation or representation in court if you can’t afford it. This could include help for housing, debt, work, family, benefits or education problems.

You can also get legal aid if you’re accused of a crime. 

Lasting Power of Attorney

A Lasting Power of Attorney lets you appoint someone to make decisions on your behalf. It’s normally used when someone is unable to make their own decisions. You can appoint someone to look after your property and financial affairs at any time.

There are 2 types:

• health and welfare
• property and financial affairs

You can choose to make one type of Lasting Power of Attorney or both.
