Information on meals, keeping clean, getting dressed and using the toilet. You do not need to have an assessment by Adult Social Care for these services.

Meals

Oak House Frozen Meals provides a wide range of frozen ready meals and desserts. Oak House also caters for a wide range of dietary needs and preferences.

Wiltshire Farm Foods provides a range of frozen ready meals and desserts, and cater for a wide range of dietary needs and preferences.

Home Help

Age UK Bedfordshire provides a Home Help Service throughout Bedfordshire and Luton to those over the age of 50. Staff are fully police checked and trained and are chosen for their caring nature and interest in helping others.

Your Home Help will visit you on a regular basis (minimum once a week) for an hour or more as required. They can clean, dust, polish, vacuum, do the laundry and ironing, clean the inside of windows, prepare a light meal or go shopping for you or with you.

Recovery after a stroke

The Stroke Association's Stroke Recovery Service will work with you to identify your personal support needs and priorities. A coordinator will contact you to organise a phone call and/or home visit to find out how you are managing with daily activities, and any additional support you may require.

The service can offer you opportunities to rebuild confidence and independence, and help you to rebuild your life after stroke.

Visiting support

Visiting support is a free service offering support and guidance to people over 60 years living in Bedford Borough and rural communities.
