Bedford Borough Council is preparing a new local plan. Because many of the Council’s development management policies and site allocations policies are up to date and do not need to be changed, the next local plan will focus on only those matters that need new policy to deliver growth beyond 2030, or where new national policy means local policies need to be amended, deleted or introduced.
The Draft Plan: Strategy options and draft policies consultation will be considered by Executive on 9 June 2021.
Subject to approval it is anticipated that a public consultation will take place starting week commencing 28 June and will finish on Friday 3 September 2021.
Further details of the consultation will be posted on this page in due course.
More details about the timetable are set out in the Local Development Scheme.
