This Issues and Options consultation is the first step in deciding the content of the Borough’s new local plan. The consultation will run from Tuesday 14 July to 5pm on Friday 4 September 2020.
Ordinarily we would hold a series of drop-in sessions but due to COVID-19 we are unable to do that. Instead we have prepared a presentation about this consultation (PDF) which we hope you will find helpful.
Have your say
The consultation paper below sets out a number of questions about the scope of the local plan and we would like to hear your views.
We would prefer you to use the online consultation system which allows you to save comments as you go along, and return to your response at a later time before you submit it.
- Consultation paper and online response form
- Supporting documents - these will form the evidence base to the plan
- Consultation paper (PDF)
- Summary leaflet (PDF)
- FAQs If you have a question which is not covered, you can email your question to firstname.lastname@example.org – ideally put ‘consultation question’ as the title of your email. We also have a dedicated phone line (01234 718300) where you can leave a message containing your query.
A copy can also be read at the Customer Service Centre, Horne Lane, Bedford MK40 1RA by appointment – call 01234 267422. Copies will also be placed in local libraries if they re-open during the consultation period.
Call for sites
Are there any sites we should specifically consider?
Because our list of sites submitted for potential inclusion in the Local Plan 2030 is now over five years’ old, we are asking that any previously submitted sites that are still felt to be suitable for development are resubmitted at this time with updated information and data. This will allow us to assess all of the potential sites on a level playing field basis.
The new local plan will identify land for development by allocating sites. If you know of a site that may have development potential, or if you are a landowner, business or developer and have a site you would like to bring to our attention, please complete a site submission form.
All sites proposed will be considered for inclusion in the plan. We would prefer you to do this online using our consultation system.
Please submit your sites to us by 5pm on Friday 14 August 2020.
