The development plan documents below set out the spatial strategy for Bedford Borough.
A ‘spatial strategy’ is one which takes into account social, economic and environmental factors such as health and housing, and which does not purely focus on the regulation and the control of land.
Preparing these documents is an ongoing process and each document can take years to get adopted.
The policies in these documents also form the basis for making decisions on planning applications submitted to the Council.
