Public transport user groups

The following public transport user groups are available as representative bodies promoting the interests of public transport bus and coach service users.

BABUS - Bedford Area Bus Users Society

BABUS was founded in November 2005 and has three main aims. They are: 

  • to represent the interests of bus users in the Bedford area
  • to encourage people to use buses
  • to act as a focal point between bus users, bus companies and local authorities

BABUS is affiliated to Bus Users UK, the national watchdog for bus passengers.

Passenger Focus

Passenger Focus is an independent national passenger watchdog; making a difference on the basis of research and evidence.

Bus Users UK

Bus Users UK is an independent group which was formed to give bus passengers a voice. It has the ear of all the major bus companies and a lot of the smaller ones too, of their trade organisation and of the Government and local authorities.

They can often help if you’ve had a problem on a bus journey. Please contact the bus company first and if you’re still not satisfied then contact Bus Users UK.
