What you need to do when your bus pass is due to expire.
Older persons
You won't have to do anything. Currently all applicants who hold an Older Person's bus pass which is due for renewal will automatically be reissued with a new one. The new pass will be sent directly from our manufacturer to the applicant's home address.
If you have moved address please ensure you inform the Community Welfare Team on concessionarytravel@bedford.gov.uk before your current pass expires to stop any additional delays receiving your new bus pass.
Disabled persons
You will be required to renew your pass approximately 6-8 weeks before to the expiry date of your current bus pass.
In order for you to receive a new pass you will need to apply for this online and provide up to date proof of disability (which proves that you still meet the Department for Transport's eligibility criteria).
You will also be able to upload documents such as:
- proof of address (required if you have moved address since receiving your previous pass)
- upload a new photo (if appropriate)
Renew your disabled person's bus pass
Alternatively, if you require a paper renewal form for your disabled bus pass, please contact us on concessionarytravel@bedford.gov.uk or 01234 718075 to request an application form.
