A series of projects to enhance one of the Borough’s most treasured green spaces is now complete.

At the heart of the Bedford Park refurbishment is the iconic Bandstand, which had its revamp celebrated with a free spring concert last month.

Music-lovers of all ages enjoyed the show led by Ukulele Bedford and Sax’s Cool, who both performed on the new and improved historic Bandstand.

Other improvements have been made in other areas of the park, including central flower bedding maintenance and a footpath upgrade near the entrance from Foster Hill Road, boosting accessibility and providing a fresh, new look.

The Council’s grounds team will continue to upkeep and improve the park.

Councillor Sarah Gallagher, Portfolio Holder for Customer Experience, Leisure and Culture said; “Bedford Park is one of the jewels of our Borough. It is a cherished space for everyone in our community, and we are committed to continuing its improvement and preservation. These recent enhancements reflect our ambition to maintain and enhance this historic park for both residents and visitors.

“Bedford Park attracts people from across the Borough and beyond. We are proud to ensure it remains a valued and much-loved landmark for years to come, offering a welcoming space for relaxation, recreation and events.”
