Bedford Borough Council is supporting the return of the Ageing Well Exhibition 2026, Bedford Borough’s largest wellbeing event for residents aged 50 and over, which will take place on Wednesday, 14 October 2026, 10am-2.30pm, at Bedford Corn Exchange, St Paul’s Square, Bedford, MK40 1SL.

The free community event offers local residents over 50 years of age, together with their friends, family and carers, a chance to discover local services, activities and opportunities that help people stay healthy, active and independent. Supported through a collaborative approach between health and Bedford Borough Council’s adult social care, through a partnership approach. The exhibition will feature 42 organisations including Bedoc Healthcare, End of Life Education and Support, Bloomin Well CIC, a range of Voluntary sector advice, Carers Organisations, Friends for Life and many more.

Visitors to the exhibition will be warmly welcomed and able to take part in taster sessions of music, chair‑based exercise and complimentary hand massages. Bedford Borough Council teams will also be in attendance to provide information on adult social care, healthcare, housing, leisure and more, including the Household Recycling and Waste Team, which will be offering advice on recycling, food waste, saving money by reducing waste and other practical tips and advice.

Councillor Martin Towler, Portfolio Holder for Valuing Families: Adult Services, Health and Wellbeing at Bedford Borough Council, said, “Events like the Ageing Well Exhibition are vital in connecting residents who are ageing, unpaid carers and families, with the support, activities and community networks that help them live well and stay independent for longer. By bringing together health, social care and community partners in one place, we make it easier for people to find what they need - whether that’s advice on care and housing, ways to stay active, or simple tips to reduce waste and save money at home. I’d encourage everyone over 50, along with their families and carers, to come along and see what’s available locally.”

Michelle Corp, from Age UK Bedfordshire, said, “The Ageing Well Exhibition is Bedford Borough’s biggest over‑50s wellbeing event and a real highlight in our calendar. It’s a friendly, accessible day where people can explore what’s on offer locally, try something new and leave feeling more connected and confident about the support around them. We’re delighted to be working with Bedford Borough Council and so many local partners to make this happen again in 2026.”

The exhibition is a free community event for residents aged 50 and over, who can also bring along their friends, family and carers to discover the services and support available locally for them.
