Bedford Borough Council would like to thank everyone who took part in the first phase of the 2026-2027 budget consultation. All the responses received are being carefully logged and will form a vital part of the information presented to the Mayor and Councillors as they consider the final proposals. Phase two of the consultation is now open and runs until midday on Friday, 19 December 2025.
This second phase features a new set of proposals, and feedback is welcome from all residents, businesses, and partners. Everyone’s input is important, so the council can take into account your views as it tackles the £32 million budget shortfall in 2026/2027 and decides on key services and investments.
Councillor Marc Frost, Portfolio Holder for Finance and Corporate Services, said, “These are enormously challenging times for Bedford Borough, as demand for vital services continues to rise and costs increase. We are grateful to everyone who engaged in the first phase of consultation - every response will be given full consideration. Your contribution in this second phase is equally important as we work to set a balanced budget that protects services and invests in our community’s future.”
