Calling all young inventors and builders! Bedford Central Library is excited to host a free LEGO® Discover Day on Thursday August 15, funded by BedfordBID.
This exciting event is designed to introduce children to the fascinating world of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) through the power of LEGO® bricks.
“We’re thrilled to offer this innovative programme at Bedford Central Library, in collaboration with BedfordBID who are funding this” says Cllr Sarah Gallagher, Portfolio Holder for Customer Experience, Leisure and Culture at Bedford Borough Council.
“LEGO® Discover Day is a fantastic opportunity for children to develop their problem-solving skills, explore coding principles, and unleash their creativity in a fun and interactive way.”
Build, Code, and Explore with LEGO®, Discover Day features three free, bookable sessions held in the library’s 3rd-floor meeting room:
11.30am to 1pm: Aimed at children aged 5-10 years old.
1pm to 2.30pm: Aimed at children aged 5-10 years old.
2.30pm to 4pm: Aimed at children aged 10 and above.
Each session will be led by a trained LEGO® expert from GeTech, who will guide participants through building challenges, coding their creations to come alive, and exploring the exciting world of STEAM concepts.
Children will work in pairs, parents and carers must stay with their child and are encouraged to join in the fun. It’s a fantastic opportunity for families to bond, learn, and create together!
Space is limited, so be sure to book your session soon at https://www.thehigginsbedford.org.uk/Book_Online/Book_Online.aspx. It’s also possible to contact the Box Office on 01234 718044 Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm or visit this in the Harpur Suite.
