Bedford Borough Council is committed to supporting residents as we continue to recover after the recent flooding.

Mayor Tom Wootton said; “Our dedicated teams are working closely with local services and communities to assist those affected and ensure a coordinated recovery effort across the Borough.

“We encourage residents to visit our dedicated flood webpage at www.bedford.gov.uk/flood for essential advice and resources. The page includes a newly-added section focused on recovery, providing important information on safety precautions and available support services.”

This webpage will be regularly updated, and we welcome feedback from residents on any additional information that may be needed.

Craig Austin, Director of Environment, added; “Our Resilience Teams are currently conducting flooding assessments in partnership with the Bedfordshire Police and Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue services, with further assessments scheduled to continue throughout the week. If you or someone you know has been affected by the flooding, please notify us by emailing floodrisk@bedford.gov.uk.

“Be sure to include as much detail as possible, along with any images, to help us better understand the impact of the flooding across the Borough. We appreciate the patience and cooperation of all residents during this challenging time, and we remain committed to providing ongoing support and assistance as recovery efforts continue."

Mayor Tom added; "I'd also like to pay tribute to all the staff and volunteers, from Bedford Borough Council and our partners, who have been working around the clock to help protect people and property. We have also appreciated the support that they have received from members of the public during this challenging time."
