Is your child due to start school or move up to middle school in September 2025? You need to apply by Wednesday 15 January for the best chance of getting a place at your preferred school.
Bedford Borough Council’s online admissions system is open to all parents and carers who live within the Borough and whose children are due to start primary or lower school, or transfer to a middle school, in September 2025.
Councillor Jane Walker, Portfolio Holder for Valuing Families: Children’s Services, said; “Applying for a school place is a quick and simple process that can be done online in just a few minutes. We urge parents and carers to submit their applications by the deadline of 15 January. Missing this date could significantly reduce your child's chances of being offered a place at one of your preferred schools.”
Who should apply?
- Parents and carers with a child born between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021 who will be starting school in September 2025.
- Parents and carers with a child in Year 4 at a lower school who will be transferring to middle school in September 2025.

Deadline:
- Wednesday, 15 January 2025.
Applications received after the deadline will be considered late and may significantly reduce the chances of securing a place at a preferred school.
