Notice of amendment to current consent streets within Bedford Borough - consultation

Notice is hereby given that the Council’s General Licensing Committee intends to amend the current consent streets within the Borough In accordance with the powers conferred on the Council under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provision) Act 1982. 

The Council hereby declares that with effect from 1 April 2024 (subject to consultation responses and Committee approval) all streets (currently and the future) in the Borough of Bedford and all adjacent spaces being land within the Borough of Bedford shall be designated as ‘Consent Streets’ for the purposes of street trading. 

For the purposes of this resolution ‘adjacent spaces’ shall mean that part of any land to which the public have access without payment and is with 10 metres of the boundary of a consent street. Such land shall include, but not be limited to, forecourts, roads, streets, footways, alleyway, doorways, driveways, car parks, green spaces or other area. 

Representations relating to the proposed amendment may be made in writing to the council at the address below no later than 7 March 2024
