The Story Garden Summer Reading Challenge starts on Saturday 12 July and finishes on Saturday 6 September.
Children can register for the Summer Reading Challenge any time between these dates in all libraries during staffed hours, as well as on the mobile library.
It’s completely free to take part, and children will receive everything they need to earn rewards for reading library books.
The more books children read, the more rewards they can collect! Can your young readers read the following?:
6 books = certificate
12 books = bookmark
18 books = medal
Children or their parent/guardian will need their own library card to register for the Summer Reading Challenge. It's free to become a member of the library and you can join during staffed hours at any library, on the mobile library, or join online and collect your library card from your local library.
There will be free crafts for children in all libraries every day of the school holidays, as well as regular activities like Lego Club, Sunday Funday, and Saturday Story. Check your local library for what’s on and look out for special Year of Reading events over the summer too.
Good luck with the challenge!
