Check your bin day

Bin collections in Bedford Borough operate on an alternate weekly basis:

  • One week we collect your black bin for general waste.
  • The following week we collect your orange lidded bin for recycling and green bin for garden waste (if you have one).

Garden waste collections (green lidded bins) run from 1 March to 30 November each year (collections are suspended over the winter period).

Collection schedules may be different if you live in a property that uses shared bins.

How to check your bin day

Type your Bedford Borough postcode or street name into the white box below and click ‘find my address’.

A matching streets / addresses box will appear - click into the box / use the drop down arrow to select your street and / or address from the list.

Our bin look-up tool only works for addresses within the Bedford Borough area. If your address comes under a different area - for example you pay your Council Tax to Central Bedfordshire Council - then your address will not appear. Please visit Find my Council to check which council manages your bin collections.

If you have just moved into a new build property and you don’t have any bins, please go to our order new or replacement bins webpage to order your bins. Once you have your bins, you will be able to use the bin look-up tool to check your bin day.

You will then be shown results for your address.

  1. A bin calendar for your address will appear at the top of the results.
  2. If you want to print your bin calendar in black and white, go to page 3 of the document and just print that page.
  3. Your next three, upcoming bin collection dates will appear just below your bin calendar.
  4. Scroll down further to see your most recent bin collection.
