The stories of fosters carers across Bedford Borough will be shared throughout May, as part of the celebrations for Foster Care Fortnight.

Every year The Fostering Network runs the campaign to raise the profile of fostering and show how foster care transforms lives. It gives fostering services, such as Bedford Borough Council, the opportunity to thank fostering families and recruit more foster carers from the community.

This year the fortnight will run from Monday 13 May to Sunday 26 May, and throughout we’ll be celebrating the moments that define fostering journeys big and small.

On Monday 20 May the Bedford Borough Council X account (formerly known as Twitter) will be handed over to one of our foster carers. Ian will take us through a day in the life of a foster carer, so make sure you follow him on @BedfordTweets.

Over on Spotify we will be launching our brand-new podcast channel when the first episode goes live on Monday 13 May. We have an exciting line-up of topics and guests planned over the coming months, so subscribe now to make sure you don't miss out on any future episodes.

And there will be our latest Virtual Information Evening Tuesday 28 May, from 7pm. These online sessions allow you to speak with a member of our team in an informal and relaxed environment. You will have the opportunity to ask questions and learn about all things fostering. Book your place by calling us on 01234 718 718.

If you would like to find out more about fostering, please do get in touch. We would love to talk to you. Contact us on 01234 718718 or email fostering@bedford.gov.uk
