Bedford Borough residents are being asked for their views on the top priorities for Bedford Borough Council to deliver on over the next four years.

The Council is working with local partners, organisations, community groups and businesses to develop its Corporate Strategy 2024-27, which outlines the top issues it will deliver on.

The draft strategy sets out the Council’s plans across its four core priorities:

  • Supporting our families and the vulnerable
  • Protecting the Environment
  • Stimulating Economic Growth
  • Promoting Health and Wellbeing

Bedford Borough residents can have their say on the proposals by visiting the Council’s consultation portal.

Councillor Jim Weir, Deputy Mayor, said; “Bedford Borough Council’s Corporate Plan is a key document for shaping the future direction of the work we undertake. We know it is important for our focus areas to reflect the priorities of all residents and groups across our Borough. By asking residents and groups to offer their views and comments via this consultation, we can make sure it focuses on the areas which matter most to them.”

“I look forward to receiving residents’ feedback, and if you struggle to have your say online – we have paper copies at the libraries.”

The consultation opened this week and will close on 28 June.

All consultation feedback will be analysed and considered and will help the council make a final decision on the corporate plan, which is due to be considered for adoption in the autumn 2024.
