The Adult Social Care team at Bedford Borough Council has shown its commitment to developing best practice, quality assurance, service innovation and workforce development with the arrival of two highly-skilled professionals.

Suzanne Forest has been appointed as Principal Social Worker. She will engage across the whole of Adult Social Care, with a focus on practice and standards to improve people’s outcomes and foster independence for the residents of Bedford.

A champion of Strength Based Practice, Suzanne is passionate about advocating for equality and rights whilst driving positive change through creative innovation.

And Tanya Hillier has arrived as the Principal Occupational Therapist. She will be working alongside occupational therapists, social workers and other professionals to help people maintain their independence at home, work, and within the community.

She is helping to find innovative ways of working with occupational therapists and other health and social care professionals so that Bedford Borough Council can further develop our already great service.

Cllr Robert Rigby, Portfolio Holder for Adult Services said; “This is part of our wider commitment to developing best practice, and finding new ways of working, not just in Adult Services but across the Council.

“Suzanne and Tanya bring a wealth of experience to the teams, and are well-versed in co-production with both service-users and service providers. We will all soon feel the benefit of their skills and dedication.”
