The Greater South East Net Zero Hub, in collaboration with Bedford Borough Council, is actively seeking Bedfordshire-based installers to join its growing supply chain dedicated to delivering energy-efficiency measures, renewable energy solutions, and low-carbon heating. The initiative, funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ), is part of the Government's commitment to retrofit programs, including the ongoing Home Upgrade Grant.
Jim Weir, Portfolio Holder for Environment, Highways, and Transport at Bedford Borough Council, expressed enthusiasm for the potential benefits this initiative could bring to Bedfordshire businesses. The domestic retrofit schemes managed through the Hub's Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS), are accessible to all PAS2030:2019, MCS, and Trustmark registered businesses, regardless of size. The Council encourages local installers to explore this avenue, as it aligns with its commitment to achieving net-zero carbon emissions.
