Bridges

We look after a number of bridges in Bedford Borough.

Some are looked after by Network Rail. Train bridges will often have a sign telling you who to contact.

Highways England own a number of bridges on the A1 and A421, A428 and the Environment Agency is another bridge owner.

Bridges located on public rights of way can be reported here.

If you think a bridge is dangerous, please contact Highways Helpdesk on 01234 718003.

You can report a problem with a bridge such as:

  • structural damage
  • if a vehicle has hit a bridge
  • maintenance problems
