Local Authority advisers will work with the teaching schools and partners to focus on the provision, or brokering of the following:

  • The development and delivery of coaching and mentoring
  • Focused data analysis to inform policy and practice
  • Planning: schemes of work; policy review; interventions; creative curriculum
  • Bespoke staff and governor training, including focus groups such as ITT, NQTs, SEND co-ordinators and teachers in literacy and numeracy
  • Facilitating curriculum development
  • Collaborative team teaching and learning
  • Promotion and development of Quality First teaching
  • Support for transfer and transition from 0-19
  • Pre and post OFSTED response
  • Enhancing the climate for learning and school ethos
  • Assessment for learning; moderation of quality outcomes monitoring and evaluation strategies
  • Facilitating development of strategies for: narrowing the gap; ensuring the highest outcomes for learners covering the full spectrum of abilities from vulnerable pupil groups through to gifted and talented learners
  • Specialised support for the identification of whole school/ departmental management issues to
    enhance outcomes at all levels
