  • Bedford Borough Council Issues Formal Caution for Falsified Information

    The Fraud Investigation Team at Bedford Borough Council have cautioned a local woman after it was found she supplied false information to the Council with the aim of obtaining free school transport for their children.

    It was discovered that the family had applied for their child to attend Lincroft Academy but had recently moved from an area where they would have qualified for free school transport to an area where they no longer qualify.

    The Bedford Borough Community Safety Partnership wants to hear from you on their recently launched Community Safety survey.

    This survey will help assess crime and anti-social behaviour in the Borough, and inform the new Community Safety Plan 2023-26.

  • Free School Meals Vouchers for Bedford Borough Children This Summer


    Thousands of families across Bedford Borough, who are entitled to income related free school meals, will be given vouchers for the Summer holidays.
     
    Funded through the Household Support Fund, the council will provide each eligible child £15 per week for the 6 weeks, issued in one £90 voucher within the first couple of weeks of the summer holidays. We anticipate issuing over 6,650 vouchers to Bedford Borough families.

    The first of Bedford Borough’s High Street Heritage Action Zone (HSHAZ) building works has been completed.

    Bedford Borough Council is seeking the views of providers of residential care services for people over 65 years of age, and home care services for people aged 18 years and above  to support the National Fair Cost of Care exercise.
