A new set of gentle exercise classes and activities for the over 70s has begun in Bedford.
These classes join a huge range of activities and sports sessions arranged by Bedford Borough Council from Active Adults sessions aimed at the over 35s, to Junior Parkrun and Just Turn Up for younger people, and the Mindful Sport programme to help with mental health.
From Monday 19th August, a new timetable of classes and sessions is available with activities at Bedford Central Library, Bedford International Athletics Stadium and John Bunyan Sports & Fitness.
There is a huge variety to choose from with chair-based pilates and yoga, volleyball, rounders, table tennis, line dancing, and indoor archery.
Cllr Doug McMurdo, Portfolio Holder for Leisure and Culture said “These are really great sessions to stay active, perhaps try something different, and meet new people. With sessions running right through until November, there’s lots of chances to get involved.”
There is no need to book, and all sessions are just £4 per person. All abilities are welcome, and flexible on age. Visit www.bedford.gov.uk/over70s, pop into Bedford Central Library, or call the Bedford Borough Council Sports Development Team on 01234 718835 to find out more.
