  • Council Urges Residents Not to Ignore Rent Arrears

    Bedford Borough Council is urging residents not to ignore notices from their landlords or the Court about rent arrears.

    Last year, the Government introduced legislation that meant landlords could not evict tenants from their homes due to rent arrears and would instead have to work with them to put in place a flexible payment plan based on their individual circumstances.

    This Saturday, 26 June, anyone over 18 in Bedford Borough can drop-in to the Harpur Suite, Bedford for their Pfizer vaccination, without the need to book an appointment or show ID.

  • Council asks residents to make a ‘racket’ about their views on tennis courts

    Bedford Borough Council have launched a survey to help them understand what local residents think about the tennis courts in the borough’s parks and open spaces and what would encourage them to use the courts more regularly in the future.

    The survey will run until Sunday 25 July and in that time, the Council will look to gather responses from as many residents as possible, from frequent users of the tennis courts to people who like the idea of trying something new.

  • Drop-In Vaccinations for Everyone Aged 18 and Over in Bedford Borough This Weekend

    The NHS is now inviting people aged 18 and over in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes to have their life-saving Covid-19 jab.

    So far, the NHS in Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes has dispensed over 960,000 vaccinations and appointments are still available for those in the initial cohorts who have not yet been protected.

  • Apply for EU Settled Status – Deadline 30 June 2021

    Bedford Borough Council is calling on all EU, EEA or Swiss citizens and their families, who lived in the UK on 31 December 2020, to apply to the EU Settlement Scheme.

    Residents who apply to the EU Settlement Scheme and are successful will be able to continue living in the UK after the deadline on 30 June 2021, without affecting their existing rights to work, use the NHS and to access housing and welfare benefits.
