Bedford Borough Council is pleased to announce that it has received £69,509.50 from the Department for Transport to support socially necessary bus services in the area.

This funding will go towards ensuring that residents of Bedford have access to reliable and affordable public transportation options.

Councillor Charles Royden, Portfolio Holder for Environment, said: “We look forward to using these funds to make a positive impact on the lives of our residents.

“There is no doubt the industry is struggling due to the Covid pandemic and exacerbated with the increase in fuel costs. These funds will be used to target our limited resources where they can make the most difference.”
