Following the announcement of the sad death of HRH Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh, the Union Flag is being flown at half-mast from Borough Hall and Town Hall.Mayor Dave Hodgson said "Our thoughts are with The Queen, and entire Royal Family on this sad day. The Duke of Edinburgh was the longest-serving royal consort in British History and we are flying the Union Flag at half-mast to mark his life, and death at the age of 99."In line with COVID-19 restrictions, the public are being asked not to gather. The Royal Family ask that members of the public consider making a donation to a charity instead of leaving floral tributes in memory of The Duke. An online book of condolence isĀ available for people across Bedfordshire to write their messages and pay their respects.
