The shelter, provided by The Salvation Army on behalf of Bedford Borough Council, will open when temperatures are forecast to be below zero for three or more consecutive nights. All agencies and organisations that come into contact with rough sleepers are kept informed of the shelter opening and closing.
In the meantime if you are aware of someone sleeping rough we urge you to report their location and any details to Bedford’s Rough Sleeper Street Outreach Partnership through the national rough sleeping report line. Your referral will be directed to our outreach teams provided by our partners, The Kings Arms Project and SMART who will make contact with the rough sleeper to ensure they are receiving support to end their homelessness.
