Performance Management is an essential tool for helping the Council achieve its main objectives as set out in our Corporate Plan. By ensuring effective monitoring we can highlight areas for improvement. Regular performance reporting ensures a sustained focus on those things that matter.
Performance Management does not have to be complicated. It is what we do to monitor, improve and maintain good performance.
As well as monitoring our corporate objectives we also measure performance against our statutory requirements. We do all of this in a transparent way by reporting information to the Council’s Executive and Overview & Scrutiny Committees.
Measuring performance helps us to improve our services by identifying areas of poor performance, which can then be investigated and improved and by identifying good practice and opportunities to learn from others.
