As a Lead Local Flood Authority under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010, Bedford Borough Council is required to lead the coordination of flood risk in their local area and therefore develop, implement and maintain a strategy for local flood risk management.
This Strategy supersedes the Local Flood Risk Management Strategy (LFRMS) of 2015 and provides a revision of how the Borough and its partners will manage flood risk within the Borough over the next five years.
The revised LFRMS seeks to build on the challenges already known to us and take forward the new challenges we face today and in the future.
