Bedford Borough Council has produced a draft Housing Strategy 2021 – 2026 (the Draft Strategy) for public consultation.
The Draft Strategy sets out how the Council intends to manage and deliver its strategic housing role. It provides an overarching framework against which the Council will consider and formulate other policies on more specific housing issues.
Deadline for comments
The consultation will run from 7 July 2020. All comments must reach the Council by 5pm on 18 August 2020.
Have your say
Please read the draft Housing Strategy (PDF) first.
We then invite you to give us your comments via the online consultation / questionnaire.
You can also print it and post it (with a stamp) to:
Housing Strategy Team
Bedford Borough Council
You can read a paper copy of the Draft Strategy by appointment in the Customer Service Centre, Horne Lane, Bedford MK40 1RA 01234 267422. It will also be placed in local libraries if they re-open during the consultation period.
Comments received through the consultation process are important and will be considered before the Council finalises the Housing Strategy. Respondents and key stakeholders will be notified about the adoption of the document and how to view a copy.
What happens next?
Comments made will be published and therefore publicly available but the identities of the individuals who made them will not.
The consultation results and proposed amendments to the draft Housing Strategy will be considered by Housing Committee in November prior to a decision by the Executive as to whether to adopt the Strategy in January 2021
Please contact the Housing Strategy Team on 01234 718572 or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any queries about the consultation or wish to discuss the draft Housing Strategy.
