On 15 August 2019, the BedfordBID Company Limited served notice on the Council to instruct the Ballot Holder to hold a ballot for renewal of a Business Improvement District (BID) for Bedford Town Centre for the period 1 April 2020 to 31 March 2025.
Having received the proposal, a Ballot must now be held among the business ratepayers in the area of the BID to see whether a majority agree with the proposed renewal. The Returning Officer for the Ballot is given the title Ballot Holder.
A BID is currently in place and will remain in place until 31 March 2020. Details of this BID are available online at Love Bedford
