Roads Highways and Pavements

Bedford Borough Council is responsible for the improvement, maintenance and development of the public highway network in the Borough, excluding the A1 and A421 which are Trunk Roads and  are therefore the responsibility of  The Highways Agency.

Not all roads are public highways, some are privately owned and may have special conditions attached to their use.

Highways Helpdesk Request Tracking

Customers can now view the latest status of their highway enquiry online. Simply follow the instructions by inserting in to the relevant boxes your original unique reference number (URN) together with your postcode.

Unfortunately if you did not give a postcode when you logged your original enquiry, then this facility will not be available to you.
