LATEST NEWS

BEDFORD ROUTE 1, 2 AND PARK & RIDE CHANGES

From Monday 30th August 2010 the routes & timetables of service 1, 2 and Elstow Park & Ride will be revised as follows:

 

Route 1 will operate via Kempston Road, Bedford Road, Saxon Centre (Sainsbury’s) and Kempston High Street and will then run in an anti clockwise loop via Chantry Road / Avenue, Cherry Walk and Elstow Road before returning to the town centre via Kempston High Street and Bedford Road. Ampthill Road will no longer be served by this service. Route 1 buses will run up to every 12 minutes an a Monday to Saturday and will NOW run every 30 minutes on Sundays and Bank holidays.

 

The Elstow Park & Ride will be revised to call at all bus stops on Ampthill Road and on a Monday to Friday most buses will serve Bedford rail station. Park and Ride buses will not serve Bedford bus station - passengers for Ampthill Road and Elstow Park & Ride should use the town centre stop on River Street. Buses will run up to every 10 minutes during peak times an a Monday to Friday and up to every 15 minutes during the day on a Monday to Saturday.

 

As a result of these changes the Elstow Road Fire Station bus stop will no longer be served.

NEW ROUTE 10 IN BEDFORD

From Monday 30th August 2010 Bedford Borough Council in partnership with Stagecoach will be introducing a new bus route from Bedford bus station and rail station to the new Woodlands Park development in Bedford.

 

Buses will run up to every 30 minutes during the day on Mondays to Saturdays between Bedford bus station, Bedford rail station, Park Avenue, Kimbolton Road, Larkway Top, Avon Drive, Tyne Crescent and the Woodlands Estate approach.

 

Waveney Avenue and parts of Avon Drive and Tyne Crescent in Brickhill will now have an even more regular bus service with route 6 buses running up to every 10 minutes and route 10 every 30 minutes.

ROUTE M50 DIVERSIONS IN SHARNBROOK

Due to roadworks in Sharnbrook route M50 buses will be diverted and will not serve part of Bedford Road, Templars Way, part of the High Street or Lodge Road from 22nd July until 1st September.

 

Route M50 buses will be diverted via Souldrop Road and Church Lane and will use the bus stops that route 125 buses currently serve.
