What is Sports Zone?
Sport Zone is a weekly sports club run
by Bedford Borough Council Sports Development Unit. It provides the
opportunity for young people between the ages of 8 – 18
years old who have disabilities or additional needs (and their
siblings) to have fun, develop skills and try new sports in our
multi-sport and multi-skills clubs.

Multi-Sports: Saturdays 10:00am – 12:00pm
The original Sports Zone sessions run
weekly at the John Bunyan Sports & Fitness Centre
throughout the year (excluding 3 weeks at Christmas) and are
designed for 8 – 18 year olds. The sessions
consist of a multi-sports programme with a variety of local coaches
delivering the sessions along with our qualified staff to provide a
fun and enjoyable experience for all. The sessions also give the
young people a chance to develop new and improve existing skills
whilst experiencing new activities.
Multi-Sports: Wednesdays: 5:30pm onwards
(depending on the activity)
This mid-week sports session is an
extension of the Saturday morning club and runs during term time
only. The club usually runs between 5.30pm – 6.30pm but this is
dependent on the availability of the venue and the activity. Please
refer to the weekly timetable for the exact times. The club is
designed for 8-18 year olds and provides sports
coaching in a variety of sports.
